I’ve been fooling around with some public domain videos, and found an old silent movie called Moonshiner. I edited and mixed it with my own twisted sense of humour.
You can watch the original fifteen minute long film over at archive.org if you’re interested.
Anywho, I hope you enjoy this little story about some moonshining gangstas trying to bust a cap in the ass of a Charles Chaplin impersonator :P
The new EP Nothing Exists Save Empty Space and Me is now available.
You’ve heard most of the tracks before, but now they come in a neat package with an album title and a cover. Whooptidoo. I hope you enjoy it :)

Track list:
01. Thanatosis (forever listless)
02. Discombobulations
03. Qui Custos Es Mei
04. Vex
05. Conversations with 17 Complete Strangers
The very last track of the new release is in preparation. It will be titled Diora, named after the funny and purdy actress Diora Baird. The Barbarella of our time :)
I don’t usually name tracks after people, but since I am a big fan of unique words and names I thought Diora would sound like a cool title.
Scratch that Diora thing, I’ve decided to call it Vex instead (EDIT 12/21-09)
If you’re interested you can check out the rough demo (and I mean rough) on my imperfect sidekick Maraichinage’s myspace page.
I plan to have the new release out before 2010, but I have the feeling that I won’t make the deadline, so don’t shoot me if don’t.
Also, I recently came across this little review of my track Conversations With 17 Complete Strangers. Check it out.
The video plans I mentioned earlier has been postponed due to my friend’s camera isn’t working properly.
Alright, that’s about all the inane updates I could think of.
Happy holidays and whatnot :)
Yet another teaser for Savium’s upcoming release.
Again, just some sliding pictures with music.
Yesterday night, on a whim, I made a small video sampler of Savium’s past discography. It’s nothing special, but since I have been wanting to start using visual medias like Youtube I thought it could be fun, just to get some learning experience.
A friend and I are also going to meet up in December and videotape me playing some of my music. It’s going to be in the style of Maraichinage, so again nothing fancy, just a fun and new way for me to promote my music.
Until then check out the sampler video :)
P.S.
There’s another guy on youtube naming his videos Savium, so just know that the only official Savium account on youtube is this one.
I know, I know. I’m really bad at keeping tracks a secret until the official record release. But wootever, no one listens to my music anyways ;)
Thanatosis (forever listless) is the title of the new track.
I fear I might be losing my mojo because I’ve really begun to struggle with my music, and Thanatosis was certainly one of those tracks. I wanted to do more with the chorus, but everything I tried sounded wrong, so it ended up just being drums, bass, and echoed rhythm guitar.
And I even made a solo in the middle part, something I haven’t done in a long time, as I prefer working with structured theme melodies. But I did try to disguise the solo with synthesizer dubbing, so maybe no one will notice ;)
Take care.
A new track titled Qui Custos Es Mei is up. It will be featured on the next record which I have decided to call Nothing exists save empty space and me.
Qui Custos Es Mei is inspired by the early works of David Pajo and my new idol Nathan Bell. There are no drums or synths, just a serene guitar composition that was made early on for my imperfect sidekick Maraichinage.
I am also working on another track titled Thanatosis (forever listless) which is more in the ususal Savium style.
I plan to have the new record ready before this year is up, so stay tuned.
- Trousers of the past!!!
New track up titled Conversations With 17 Complete Strangers. It is intended for a future compilation by Dedicated Records that revolves around a story written by Bradley J. Palko.
I don’t think I’ve struggled so much with a track before, so at one point I just had to force myself to say; this is as good as it gets, so stop fucking about :P
I also made a youtube channel for Savium. There’s no videos of my own yet because I don’t have the equipment or know-how, but I’ve favoured some videos made by other people which features a brief second or more of my music. Check it out here.
Some of my old tracks recently got a boost in plays thanks to some mysterious computer game called Audio-Surf. I don’t know what it is about, but I’m glad and welcome all new listeners.
Cheerio :)
Being and instumental one-man band means that you can’t really do shows (I can’t anyways) and get word of mouth promotion in that area, so you sorta have to go along with all the new hip internet thingys that can help you on your way. What I’m trying to say is that I caved in to the trend and made a profile on Twitter, so if you’re into that kinda thing go ahead and add me. Like on Savium’s Facebook profile I’ll probably only tweet when there’s a new track coming or something else that could be important.
You should also jump on Filophoni’s twitteroo, the netlabel which I am a proud staff member of :)
I recently uploaded the Lethargic Philophony EP to the up and coming website Bandcamp. Bandcamp is the only place right now where you can get the EP exclusively in high bitrate 320kb MP3s, so yeah, jump on that too if you want. Link here.
Today I’m finishing up the new track for the Dedicated Records compilation I mentioned earlier. The track will most likely be titled 7 Conversations. Where or when you’ll get to hear it only time will tell :)
- Live long and prosper
